We have been having some warm days recently so I have been getting a little more active in the garden. Here is Elijah kicking some butt with the mother of all garden tillers, the BCS garden tractor. Four forward speeds, reverse and two tine speeds ends any arguments with hard soil in the garden. You can see the chickens following him around to eat the worms that get kicked up.

Here is how the view looks from our treehouse, Fort Douglas. We have a large garden.

I somehow got arrested for trying to burn down my elementary school when I was seven or so. Parents weren’t real hip on that. Living in Nephi, Utah isn’t like living in Los Angeles where it takes an act of congress to have a good time. So whenever we can, we burn whatever we feel like in the back yard. The neighbors finally stopped calling the fire department years ago when they realized that we burn stuff all summer long in our yard.

Soon it will be warm enough to actually start planting seeds. At that time the vegetable destroying chickens will be put into the very back, very large chicken pen. They don’t realize that this Robinson Crusoe looking fence will be bordering their future Fema camp. All for “their own good” of course.

What a wonderful day it was today. Springlike even. 55 degrees. Kids outside on bikes, doors open, and I got so excited, I even tilled some of the garden with the big blue tiller. Heres a pic I snapped looking west.
