Soon it will be warm enough to actually start planting seeds. At that time the vegetable destroying chickens will be put into the very back, very large chicken pen. They don’t realize that this Robinson Crusoe looking fence will be bordering their future Fema camp. All for “their own good” of course.

What a wonderful day it was today. Springlike even. 55 degrees. Kids outside on bikes, doors open, and I got so excited, I even tilled some of the garden with the big blue tiller. Heres a pic I snapped looking west.

Happy Anniversary Jay & Emily!!

Twelve Years and counting!

Friends

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival" ~ C. S. Lewis

Thank you for your HUGE contribution in adding value to MY survival. I love you girls!!!

The progression of our tiny house...

By far, our favorite part of our house is the yard. A lot of people don't know what is hiding in the back, but here's what it looked like when we first saw it. We came down to go to church and see if we liked the ward. This was April, 2003. I think they liked it, too!

One year later, Jay had transformed the yard into this:

Stay tuned for more recent pictures - we plan on going all crazy again this year, so we'll keep you updated.

Now for the house....
I know it doesn't look done yet, but it used to be worse!!

Not quite finished, but SO much better!!!

Thanksgiving

For those of you who have religiously checked my blog, hoping and praying for an update, today will be a shock and maybe a miracle!

Here are some pictures of Thanksgiving with Mom this year.

Mom set a beautiful table for us!

Granny with the boys

Thanksgiving treat - Madagascar 2
Thanks for having us, Mom! We had a lot of fun!

Auntie Rena

Many thanks to my sweet sister, Rebekah, for coming to visit us (and enduring the usual photo session).
She looks more like my son, Zach, than I do! (he's in the upper left hand corner)

This is the perfect example of how much fun she is. This is a picture of her condo with notes... she's so fun and thoughtful. When I grow up, I want to be as thoughtful and creative as she is!!

I LOVE YOU, RENA!!!!

Fun in the snow

We've had tons of snow this year - it's been really fun for the boys!

The Urpies....

Our family has the urpies. These are burps that produce something very foul smelling that usually comes out the other end of a human being. We're not sure what it is or when it will leave our house (it started around Thanksgiving). We call them urpies because we couldn't find any useful information on the web about our symptoms.

One family member can clear a whole room with the urpies. This is now our new favorite drink:

It rivals the urpies and settles the stomache. Jay also bought a good probiotic that we've been taking to help digestion.

Hopefully this Holiday season hasn't introduced the urpies to your home! If it has... we recommend Ginger Ale!!
